Our Team

Gavin Houchell

Gavin’s expertise and passion lies in people & business growth which led him to establishing The Acquire Group in 2013. He has been described as “sociable, charismatic and exceptionally good at building and maintaining relationships”. Gavin commenced his recruitment career in the UK before relocating to Sydney in 1998. As Managing Director for an ASX listed recruitment business he was responsible for driving the business strategy and developing a team of over fifty Consultants in four offices across Australia. Over the past 25+ years Gavin has created an extensive network and deep relationships with Boards, Investors and Executives who have engaged him for key executive appointments, human capital support and guidance. When not in key talent discussions you will either find Gavin running ridiculous distances up / down mountains, or he will be having too much fun with friends & family listening to an ever increasing vinyl collection but a decreasing wine collection.

Dan Webb

Dan is a seasoned talent acquisition professional with extensive experience, with a passion and track record within the tech, consumer good, and media & entertainment sectors. His approach to search and selection involves fostering enduring, collaborative relationships with clients and gaining a deep understanding of their organisational culture. After completing his education in Edinburgh, Dan transitioned to sales before advancing his UK recruitment career. In 2011, he moved to Sydney with a boutique firm where he led their the commercial finance team. In 2014, Dan joined Acquire Talent to help expand the business, he has consistently delivered high standards on over 200+ assignments. Dan strives to exceed expectations by seamlessly integrating himself into his clients’ businesses. His expertise lies in successfully negotiating mutually beneficial outcomes for both candidates and clients. When not engaged with clients, candidates or his MacBook you can find Dan chasing his 10K PB or perhaps just chasing his 2 children and German Wirehaired Pointer around the park.

Daniel O’Brien

Over the past 25 years Daniel has continued to cultivate an extensive network across the Executive Finance leadership community. Having operated in both Asia Pacific and UK markets, Daniel has been identified as a key individual in aiding the careers of many emerging Leaders and Executives. Daniel joined Acquire Talent in 2016, he has been complimented for his “human and genuine” approach to building and nurturing relationship’s with both clients and candidates alike. The combination of Daniel’s personal style in parallel with Acquire’s innovative approach as a boutique search provider allows him to add immense value for those who engage him. A more recent pursuit of Daniel’s has been to travel Australia with his family and given his vintage, he can now genuinely be labelled both a “grey nomad” of our fabulous Country and the recruitment industry.

Paul Pierucci

Paul grew up in South Africa but then made the move to London where he gained quality training and honed his foundational recruitment skills, which stood him in good stead for his arrival in Sydney in 2013. Paul has gained huge success in placing mid-level finance professionals across multiple industries over the past decade; many of whom have gone on to promotions and key leadership positions. What sets Paul apart is his commitment to providing objective and unbiased advice to both clients and candidates. Whilst some may describe him as the “young pup” at Acquire Talent, Paul is approaching 15 years in recruitment, albeit his sharing of his ongoing aches and pains clearly have him maturing faster than some. A reminder “We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing”. In Paul’s spare time he loves spending time with his young sons, teaching them various sports and running a (not so) successful Sports Podcast.
