ACQUIRE’S “IN THE BOARDROOM” WITH HEITH MACKAY-CRUISE

I was delighted to catch up with Heith Mackay-Cruise, who is an experienced Non Executive Director and Chair. Heith is on the Boards of: Literacy Planet, Bailador Technology Investments, Lifehealthcare, HiPages, ACG Education and Vision Australia. As an accomplished CEO before moving into the Boardroom, we sat down to discuss current thinking within the Boardroom, leadership philosophies and how aspiring functional leaders develop their careers.

In the interview we explored the importance of Executive Teams ability to clearly articulate the strategy and how this cascades through the entire organisation. I loved hearing about his unit economics view and the 3 Cs around Capability, Capital, and the Capacity of a management team. Heith previously led business by leading people, I was curious to explore his views on what makes a great leader and how he supports this from the Boardroom and; growing a career through General Management, going from depth to breadth and gaining experience in new areas and an enlightening discussion.
